Many thanks today (28 May 2025) to Atrium employees and Edinburgh & Lothian Greenspace Trust for digging out the most challenging, deeply buried section of our stone rainwater runoff channels, the one along the lower Regent Gardens Path, at the foot of the slope immediate before the north (Greenside) entrance to Calton Hill.
The discovery of the afternoon was the eighth Calton Hill drain, unexpectedly just behind number seven. Every drain we locate is a step forward in understanding the hill’s infrastructure.
