Trust expresses concern to Edinburgh World Heritage over the state of Jacob’s Ladder

By Admin on 25 August 202525 August 2025

The Trust have expressed their concern to Edinburgh World Heritage (EWH) about the state of Jacob’s Ladder. Originally an EWH restoration project, the walls of the steep path from the Old Town to the New Town have become lined with graffiti — the worst area for tagging in the area.

The Trust have asked to be designated as a member organisation of EWH, so we can advise on the cleanup and maintenance of those areas of Calton Hill that lie outside the public path area.
