The extensive stone gutters are a feature of the hill, but they have not been maintained, and hundreds of metres of them are now buried under earth washed down from the hill, in the course of the erosion of the topsoil.
We are now starting to uncover them, and open the gullies and drains with which they are associated. We are grateful to the Beltane Festival volunteers for helping us begin the process of restoring the drainage system for the hill.
