The Calton Hill Conservation Trust are hosting a meeting devoted to nature entitled: Protecting habitats and species: Holyrood Park and Calton Hill on 6 February 2025, beginning at 18.00 and lasting about 100 minutes.
Speakers will include: Matt McCabe, Holyrood Park Conservation Ranger (Historic Environment Scotland) on ‘Rare species in Holyrood Park‘, Alex Hunter, City of Edinburgh Council Thriving Green Spaces ecologist on ‘The Edinburgh Nature Network‘, and Ben Averis, botanist and plant surveyor, the author of Plants and Habitats: An introduction to common plants and their habitats in Britain and Ireland, on ‘The Vegetation of Calton Hill‘.
Graeme Wilson of GWEcology will also talk about the mammal surveys planned for Calton Hill.
The meeting will be online on Zoom. There will be time for questions and a discussion will end the meeting. This is a free public event and all are welcome.
