Calton Hill Conservation Trust

Membership

Membership of the Calton Hill Conservation Trust is open to all, both in Edinburgh and beyond.

We are one of the most active conservation groups in the city, organising walks, nature surveys and meetings, while undertaking work to keep the hill cleaner and safer for visitors.

We are registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator (number SC053572) and regularly apply for grants for projects to improve conditions on the hill.

We currently have about 100 paid-up members. The membership fee is £10 per person per year, though this will shortly be increasing to £25, with £35 for a household.

To become a member please complete the membership form on the following link:

Volunteers

We also have an active volunteers group who do the physically more demanding restoration work on the hill. This includes sticker and graffiti removal, clearing debris from rainwater runoff channels, re-turfing and re-seeding grass, and litter picking in more challenging areas of the hill. Many of the group are also members, but membership is not essential to becoming one of our volunteers.

We also run regular litter pickups which all are welcome to take part in. See the Events & timeline page for upcoming dates.

Please write to <info@CaltonHillTrust.org> if you would like to join the volunteers group or take part in a litter pickup.
