How many people would visit the Nelson Monument if it was reopened?

By Simon on 15 December 202330 December 2023

Following the report to the City of Edinburgh Council’s Culture and Communities committee on 7 December, we know that 64,678 came in 2019. It was the seventh most popular of the city’s 11 museums and galleries.

The other ones are the City Art Centre, Lauriston Castle, Makars’ Court and the Writers’ Museum, the Museum of Edinburgh, the People’s Story Museum, the Museum of Childhood, Queensferry Museum, the Museum Collections Centre, and the Scott Monument — all of which, unlike the Nelson Monument, are currently open to the public.
