The City of Edinburgh Council Culture & Communities Committee approved the Fireworks Control Zone (FCZ) for Calton Hill on 23 Nov — but only for the period of 1-10 November. This is not exactly what we expected as we thought the consultation was for a year-long ban. We’d prefer the latter as fireworks can be problem at other times of the year.
We hope the council can arrange for clear and conspicuous signage to explain how the FCZ works, so people respect the arrangements rather than flout them.
