On 17 September 2025, Edinburgh’s Deadline Times featured the Erosion Emergency declared by the Trust on 12 September:
“Erosion is the result of a combination of factors in the summer. It can be prevented by moderating grass cutting regimes and ‘resting’ areas if footfall is very high. Erosion is not too expensive or too difficult to reverse if done in the autumn and early winter.”
