Thanks to the Galashan Foundation, we’ve received a donation for a defibrillator heart restarter. The City of Edinburgh Council Property & Facilities Management unit engineers visited the hill on 8 January and have kindly offered to manage the installation.
The council are now looking at locations where the defibrillator can be made readily accessible at all times. Housed in a frost-proof, illuminated box, it will require a minimal electrical current, supplied by a solar panel or a direct lead.
The Trust are remain strongly committed to doing everything possible for the health, safety and wellbeing of visitors. An accessible defibrillator on the hill is long overdue. We hope to have one there very soon.
