The Friends are delighted to see this being repaired today by the council — for which many thanks.
A new motor is being installed under the left-hand (west) leaf of the gate, so it can be opened remotely to admit authorised vehicles. We understand it’s intended that the right-hand (east) leaf of the gate will normally be left open to admit pedestrians, cyclists and motorised wheelchair users.
